That being said let's move back to Game Designers. to the point when while doing longer turns in the late game I quick save just to avoid redoing a turn.) And maybe, one day deliver MacOS game version which works normally on the min settings without frying GPU or crashing the system (this is the first time any app crashed the OS. It's a real shame that the game was rushed, and it will no doubt suffer for it in the long-run.ĭevs are making the game work smoothly and wout glitches (given enough time, testing and much more :-] ). I thought it was pretty evident that he didn't feel the game was ready for launch, or at least not in the state he wanted it to be in. I remember Rogan did a stream with William, one of the devs, showing off the map creator, and I distinctly remember him sounding nervous about the upcoming release. I count myself among the many who were desperate for the game to release, but after seeing it, even in its current state, it really should have been pushed back again. As I was playing the open devs, I was under the impression that there were many more to follow so as to allow us to playtest various different components of the game, but there was virtual silence on that end in the months leading up to release. They allowed us to provide feedback on very detailed aspects of the game, ie battles, sieges, and the nomadic/ancient era specifically, but when placed in the larger context of just how much improvement and polishing the game is in dire need of, it seems silly in retrospect that the devs chose to playtest these very particular aspects of the game, when much grander, sweeping change and iteration was needed. That being said, I really question the utility of the open devs. I was also surprised to see just how unbalanced the game is.
